These antique acorn earrings are straight out of the Victorian times and hail from Norway, hence the 830 solid silver marking (the standard for 'sterling silver' in Norway). With a beautiful gold wash, they look like gold without the cost. Acorns were deeply loaded with symbolism in the Victorian era, representing strength, independence, growth, immortality and family. These look great on their own or with other more contemporary studs and hoops. They are lightweight with period-specific screwbacks, but could also be converted to hooks or pushbacks by a good jeweler.
