Antique Victorian Mourning Forget Me Not Locket Pendant

A simple but stunning Antique Victorian Forget Me Not Mourning Locket Pendant with hairwork. The perfect small but chunky charm to wear on a chain, charm necklace or a thin piece of ribbon. The front is covered in detailed engravings and a forget me not flower made of turquoise colored glass beads and opal colored glass beads. The glass back locket has woven hair work under it. Comes with original wide bail and an additional jump ring bail (likely added later). In the Victorian era, forget me nots were a symbol of remembrance for those who had passed away. They were also used to express true love and devotion.

MATERIALS: Gold toned metal, hair, glass turquoise colored beads, opaline (glass opal beads).

ERA: Victorian (1837 - 1901).

MEASUREMENTS: About one inch tall, not including bail.

CONDITION: In good secondhand condition, with some normal wear and tear that comes with age. Light scratching commensurate with age.
